Kumon provides learning opportunities in various countries and regions around the world. As a part of our operations as a global organization, personal data may be shared from time to time between Kumon Group companies.
Due to the importance of personal data protection, and the fact that data protection regulations differ by country and region, the Kumon Group has established Binding Corporate Rules (“BCRs”) as one of the ways we ensure personal data is handled safely and in compliance with international privacy laws.
The BCRs establish our principles for protecting personal data originating in the European Economic Area (or simply, the “EEA”) and the rules we follow for sharing that personal data with Kumon Group companies outside the EEA.
The BCRs are comprised of the Controller Policy and the Processor Policy. The applicable policy will differ depending on whether the Kumon Group processes personal data as a controller or as a processor.
Currently, the BCRs only apply to personal data that originates in the EEA. For more information regarding the scope of the BCRs, please refer to the section “What is covered by the BCRs?” within the BCRs.
