Kumon around the globe
South Africa attracted the world's attention as hosts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
It has been approximately 17 years since South Africa completely abolished apartheid. In recent years, the country has been in the spotlight as an emerging nation with a high economic growth rate. Yet, it still has many problems to solve such as poverty and social divisions.
Kumon first entered South Africa in 1991. As of October 2010, approximately 18,000 students were studying math and English (as a native language) at their local Kumon Center in South Africa.
South Africa received a low rank on a recent international survey of math education. With the conviction that education can contribute to the development of a nation, the Instructors and staff of Kumon South Africa are giving their all for the children of South Africa.
